Harvey Thatch won two commendations for the use of Harvey Thatch in the refurbishment of Skukuza Rest Camp.

The celebratory gala dinner was hosted at Emperor’s Palace in Gauteng on 3rd October 2024. Harvey Thatch won commendations for the Kruger National Park Skukuza refurbishment project in two categories – Innovation & Sustainability as well as the Steel Cladding category.

The SAISC Steel Awards have become a hallmark in the built environment, gaining immense popularity among stakeholders. Over 40 years, this event has evolved into an exhibition of ingenuity, technical expertise, and awe-inspiring steel structures. It is a celebration of excellence, highlighting the diligent efforts of manufacturers, engineers, contractors, architects and project team members in our industry.

The outdated guest accommodation at Skukuza suffered from ongoing maintenance challenges. And are now been refurbished inside and out. 

Phase one is now complete, with Harvey Thatch roof tiles protecting and beautifying the units.
